COURTNEY AARON

I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

PHOTOGRAPHY

18 years ago I slung a camera strap around my neck, and I’ve been capturing moments and memories that will be cherished for generations to come ever since. My goal? Put you at ease in front of the camera and document what matters and giving you something timeless in a fleeting world.

This Simple Hack Keeps Me Focused

Multitasking doesn’t work. It did when I waited tables for 8 years during and after college. But in business now, with emails, edits, bookings and phone nearby… forget it. There are so many apps out there to help in some ways, but this hack doesn’t cost a dime, a download, or even your phone and you can do it immediately.

Here it is: Leave your phone in another room.

It’s so I used to do airplane mode, but my phone still lingered. Like the Sirens of Greek mythology, it teases with just one quick check of an email or instagram scroll and all of a sudden your sucked in, completely off track. When my computer had a slow down, aka: the spinning wheel of death,  I’d glance over and do a quick check… that would lead to at least a 10 min brain melt, getting me off-task and distracted and likely looking into 10 other windows by that point.

Try it out. Even if for a half hour while you’re doing your work and see what happens. I promise you’ll feel focused, faster and accomplished because you actually tackled the task, rather than half ass-ing it and leaving it to be finished tomorrow.

Happy Focusing!
