I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

Nestled in the Lost Sierras, Nakoma Resort provided the perfect venue for Jenna, Trevor and their immediate family to check-in for a week away to spend relaxed time together and celebrate their vows. They wanted the vibe to feel like a casual retreat in the woods with the focus on the beautiful location, architecture, and candid moments with family. Intimate and personal, the days created a lifetime of memories.
Timberline Flower Farms provided the blooms. Jenna and company’s flawless makeup was provided by artist Vanessa Saldaña while hair was styled by Louize Barras. She found her gown at Swoon Bridal in Reno, Nevada.
Trevor is part of elite group of Wildland Firefighters, the Silver State Hotshots. It was an important personal detail that he wore this belt buckle on his wedding day.
The main lodge was a shelved design of Frank Lloyd Wright, never built for its intended location. Fast forward to 2001, and the design was brought to life at Nakoma Resort.
Papa Dave, Trevor’s father, arrived to check in with Jenna before assuming his role of officiant.
This little lady’s boots were her grandmother’s, worn by her dad and now hers. Well broken in, she’s the fifth grandchild to wear them. I love the ability to have these conversations, being curious about the small details that help make wedding galleries that much more meaningful for everyone involved.

The day of their wedding, there was an extraordinary event occurring above. The comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas comet was passing by and once day turned to night, the sight was incredible. Nothing like the biggest shooting star to wrap up your wedding night!
On a personal note, Jenna was a bridesmaid in Jaclyn’s wedding back in 2018. We crossed paths again a few years back at Trevor’s nephews birthday party. His sister Amy has been a friend of mine for years. Jenna whispered to me that when they get engaged, she was going to reach out about their wedding. She kept her word and it was truly an honor to capture this day for two incredible humans!
When your guest list oozes talent, pulling off a no stress backyard wedding with all the right details is as easy as pizza pie.
