Everyone, meet my pal Romyn!

He’s four, he’s a comedian, a ball of energy and has more hilarious facial expressions than any kid I know! He showed me how he flosses, raced with cousins and we share a love for sour watermelon gummies! I was lucky enough to spend time with him and his family recently during their vacation in Lake Tahoe compliments of Tyler’s Grace Foundation.

 

Tyler’s Grace is an incredible organization based in Pleasanton, CA that gifts families a week of R&R away from treatments and the daily dealings of a life-threatening diagnosis. Families can choose lakefront in South Lake Tahoe or beachfront n Aptos. They sincerely lay out the red carpet and make families feel completely at ease. I’m so grateful these guys chose Tahoe!

In September, he was diagnosed with a rare, inoperable, brain tumor (DIPG – Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma).

But this week wasn’t about that. Tyler’s Grace makes sure of it.

Lakefront accommodations, groceries, activities, a portrait session and most importantly, vacation time with family – all handled. I’ve been working with Tyler’s Grace for a few years and have been continually humbled by the angels work they do.

This is the heartbeat behind why I’m a photographer- reminding us all how precious life and love truly are and how the little moments really are the big moments we cherish forever.  If I had all the money in the world, I’d give it to pediatric cancer research. Since I don’t yet, I give these families images of a time they spent together laughing, being care-free, and enjoying life.

Rodriguez family, you all are amazing! Romyn has the strongest support around him and talk about family bond! What a joyful spirit these folks possess, it’s easy to see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
