I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

My google maps search gave me an idea of the setting, but my jaw dropped as we pulled up since this is pretty much a dream setting, in my opinion. As we walked the property, their excitement and pride for what was to come in raising their young girls on this very land were heart-warming. Having not even broken ground yet, and the lot was already home. The little ladies, all perfectly put together, hit the ground running to climb fences and visit horses, pretend on farm equipment and toss sticks for their pup. Seeing children run free, on land and in their imaginations is the reminder we all need daily to stop adulting so hard.
At the end of our session, a bottle of bubbly was popped and we photographed a pretty sweet memory I can see hanging on the walls of the home that will live here one day. When the girls are driving down the dirt driveway heading for college, Lucy and Chris may turn around and see one of these images and it will take them right back to their little blondies noses tickling from the celebratory bubble juice.
P.s. Chris has been a big player in the revitalization and enrichment of Reno, NV over the past decade. With multiple downtown restaurants, pubs and even mastering the art of craft beer and bringing a slice of local history back through his brew, Tahoe Beer. Check out this great article in Edible Reno-Tahoe for more details.
Ok – confession. If you know this family, you know that a lot has happened since this shoot. As in… a wedding, a pregnancy, the baby (that has already arrived and has been thriving for months!) and guess what? They’re about to break ground on this land!
I gasped when I saw this session sitting in the drafts folder. Quite literally gasped. It’s a good thing no one holds their breath while I blog my work…
When your guest list oozes talent, pulling off a no stress backyard wedding with all the right details is as easy as pizza pie.
