Detail shots and scenics are an important part of telling the story of a wedding day. They set the stage with a feeling of what it was like to be a guest.

I have a handful of clients who wish to preserve their privacy and keep their wedding images from the public eye- which, frankly, is refreshing to hear and something I completely respect in a world where everything seems to accessible online. Getting the feel of a wedding through just the detail and scenic shots gives a unique perspective. Our minds can be left to imagine the excitement, the joy and the celebration that filled these picturesque scenes all day long.

Welcome to the Holman Ranch, one of the most enchanting venues I’ve photographed!

From the moment you pull up to Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, your breath is stolen by the long drive through rolling hills that eventually reveal the surrounding Santa Lucia Mountains.

Originally built in 1928, it served as an original Air B&B of sorts and it served as a gentleman’s retreat to many of the Golden Age of Hollywood’s A-listers. Pictured above, you’ll see a handful of the celebrity guests who escaped Hollywood for a change of scenery out here. If these walls could talk!

Preserving history was a large part of my upbringing and it’s obvious those in charge here take so much care to do so. I loved walking the grounds, feeling what would have taken place here throughout the years.
