I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

Their wedding was not just about their love for each other, it was about the love of their family and friends that has surrounded them their whole lives. A day to bring everyone together in one place. “You’re here to celebrate us, but we’re here to celebrate your special existence in our lives”
Megan and Matt originally had planned to marry in New York in 2020. They were living there at the time and being from Long Island, Matt’s home base was New York. Having to cancel due to the pandemic, they also decided to move across the country to San Francisco, where Megan grew up, and started brainstorming west coast wedding plans.
Lake Tahoe was a place near and dear to their hearts and they loved the idea of their family and friends joining them for a celebratory weekend there.
The story of their proposal:
“On their very first date, Matt did his typical pick-up-esque bit about his family in Italy; how he went *every* summer, how he was raised Italian and could understand the language pretty well. After he finished waxing-on poetically about Arrosticini’s, Meg casually began speaking in fluent, pitch perfect Italian – Matt’s jaw is still somewhere on the floor of that Fenway restaurant.
From that moment on, Italy became one of the strongest links in the chain of their love. It took 5+ years, but Matt was finally able to take Meg to the motherland, introduce her to family, and feast on carbs and roasted meats. On the 3rd day Matt and Meg went off on their own, to walk alongside the Italian coastline, to dip their toes in the warm Adriatic sea, and to eat 15 courses of fresh fish on an Abruzzese Trabocco. That’s where Matt got down on one knee (staining his white pants) and asked Meg for her hand in marriage. She Said Yes!“
An enchanted garden ceremony set on the lawn at Valhalla Grand Hall.
Guests were greeted with champagne and inviting seating areas before the ceremony start.
Matt’s passion for film and performing led them straight to the Boathouse Theatre for portraits and some time together before joining cocktail hour.
