I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

Today’s post tugs on my heart strings, as this wonderful woman has touched my life in every possible way throughout the years. She has truly become family, helping care for my son since he was a baby, helping me at a moments notice, giving of her time and always there as a trusted friend and sister. We share a love for photography and through endless conversation, it was easy to feel her magnetism toward capturing human connections. I consider myself blessed to have her in my life.
What a beautiful thing to know she’s found someone grounded with shared values who appreciates the bright light she brings to everyone around her. She is one of the special ones that I am convinced is made of pure gold. Ryan, a fellow Pennsylvanian, is an easy guy to love. He’s down-to-earth, caring, driven and a true outdoorsman. When they’re together, you’ll see how he glances over at her, as if he’s thinking “Why would I look anywhere else when she’s right here?”
Ryan and Janessa had the idea to capture their engagement session in their backyard, an open range of seemingly endless land just outside of their neighborhood in Sparks, Nevada. This is a place they spend time off-roading and exploring with their black lab, Gabby.
This is the area in which Ryan proposed, making it even more meaningful!
When your guest list oozes talent, pulling off a no stress backyard wedding with all the right details is as easy as pizza pie.
