I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

This is a family near and dear to my heart. I shot Bridget and Scott’s wedding on August 8, 2009 in Bridgeport, CA. It was the day I fell in love with ranches and the landscape that was so foreign to this east coaster became one that I couldn’t get enough of. I have these two to thank for giving me the first wedding I wore cowboy boots to and wishing I grew up on a ranch. (Don’t worry mom, I’m still really thrilled with where you raised me though!) Ranch folks know how to throw a party and as long as there’s beer and a dancefloor, it’s going to be one hell of a good time.
About a year and a half ago, they had this little guy. His name is Cort and no matter what you say, Bridget, I know who he was really named after. And it wasn’t that rodeo guy. We spent a little over an hour together and Cort was nothing but smiles and laughs and exploring. All these images of them walking together holding hands was Cort’s idea. If he was just holding dad’s hand, he looked over so he could have mom’s hand too. He loves his parents and its easy to see how much they love him right back.
The love in these images is certainly felt here on earth and I have no doubt someone up above was smiling during this shoot as well, watching her sister having such a good time with her boys. Perhaps that glimpse of the sun we had, the first in over 5 days, wasn’t just a coincidence.
Here are the Burtons…
Bridget is also a rising star photographer based out of Fernley. Check HERE out here until her website’s re-vamp goes live.
