I’m a Lake Tahoe based wedding and portrait photographer, and fan of unposed, giddy-in-love, melt-my-lenses-editorial-style moments … oh, and t-shirts and jeans.

The thing about shooting weddings is that the location, the people and personalities and styles… all the elements…. make each wedding so different and unqiuely awesome to be a part of. Megan and Parker threw an incredible event. The girls were fantastic, the guys kept me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt, and it was so easy to see the love that surrounds them through their families and friends. I showed up at the Stremmel Gallery this morning to take a look around and Turkey Stremmel was there with open arms to show me around. Each of the pieces hung in the gallery that day was hand-picked by the bride and groom. Being Parker’s aunt, she and her husband were so excited to hold their reception at the gallery and it just set the warm and welcoming tone for the rest of the day. This was a wedding that I truly felt like a guest, at every part of the day. When guests are loading up a plate of Gourmelt sandwiches to fuel my drive back to Tahoe, it was tough to call it a night! So, big hugs to this entire wedding!
Megan and Parker, you two are just extraordinarily awesome. I am so thrilled to have been invited to be a part of this day! Many, many congrats!
Ever think of having a food truck serve up a late night treat for guests? Megan and Parker did. After a night of drinking and dancing, tell me this wouldn’t be the absolute best thing to see? I went home with a banana and chocolate grilled sandwich of heaven.
A big thank you to Jentry Dryden for being my co-pilot during the ceremony and cocktail hour!

An awesome note about choosing cakes and cake toppers from Megan:
The cake and cake toppers are actually kind of funny. Parker and I aren’t big on cake and knew we didn’t want an elaborate multi-tiered cake. I really wanted pie, but April isn’t exactly pie season! We decided on doing Nothing Bundt Cakes for our guests, but felt we still needed something larger to cut into. Literally the day before the wedding I went to Whole Foods and picked up a coconut cake (we both love coconut because it reminds us of our trips to Hawaii). Also on the day before the wedding, my sister and I were racing around town trying to find lego bride and grooms because Parker thinks legos are awesome. We couldn’t find legos, but we came across the Batman and Wonder Woman figurines at Target. Those were almost as good as the legos because Parker loves Batman and other comic superheroes. A picture of our cake is Parker’s Facebook profile pic, so I think he liked it 🙂

When your guest list oozes talent, pulling off a no stress backyard wedding with all the right details is as easy as pizza pie.
Awesome job, Courtney! I LOVE the b/w shot of them kissing… great use of negative space.
